Distractions of a good book..

This week I've done no writing. I've barely even thought about it which is weird for me since usually when I don't write I'm racked with guilt (see previous post). So what is the cause of this guilt free writing break?

A good book.

Or several to be precise. I've been reading Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series. It's got great characters, ass-kicking action and an interesting and independant female MC with a great voice. And, oh yea, it's been taking a lot of my spare time. That's the problem with a good book, I can't stop reading and everything else I should be doing gets forgotten. Great that I'm reading a good book, not so great for story progress.

So once I've finished the last book of the series its back to getting words and no more books for a while.

Till next time!
Sari

Today's excerpt:

“I’m a manipulator. I can make people think something or want to do something by planting thoughts or urges in their head, but only if they’re not already adverse to those suggestions. If I tell someone they like fish when all their life they’ve hated it then I’ve effectively wasted my energy. It was difficult keeping so many people away, and if anyone had become suspicious they would have fought the suggestion to stay away. I wouldn’t have been able to get us all the way without your help.” Interesting. There seemed to be all these people who walked around Dereshann who had specific magical abilities, yet mine didn’t seem to manifest itself in any particular way. Other than of course the Sinne. Was that my special ability and the power was just an added extra? If that were the case then it was a pretty enormous extra.
